Description
The Oaxacan plant used was collected by my friend Bodhi in the coastal region of Oaxaca, on the beach of Zipolite. This cross was a test grow which in that same season I was able to germinate an Acapulco Gold line from the early 70’s which I was only able to nurture one male from this specific Acapulco Gold line. The male was from early 70’s stock, with green leaves which turn golden with maturity, the stems turn bright brick red, and the male sepals turn golden upon maturity. The male used in this cross was used in my 2012 Acapulco gold preservation, which used the last of each of 2 heirloom Acapulco Gold lines to continue a pure Acapulco gold from that era.
The flowers are sweet and spicy, like raw tobacco leaf with aroma notes of honeysuckle and ketones. Some of the phenotypes bleed red sap and the red stems and petioles are striking against the yellow pallor of the maturing floral clusters of this pure old school Mexican hybrid.
These are breeding lines and have a quality which has practically disappeared, since these lines are preservation works released in limited quantity be aware that some intersex traits may pop up from the Oaxacan and Acapulco Gold lines as one test grow had shown slight intersex traits. *This can happen from any type of plant stress, but should be noted before deciding to purchase. Again these are breeding lines for those who don’t mind the work of breeding with unworked preservation lines of the past. * LIMITED RELEASE*
