Description
Emilia javanica
This ‘Irish Poet’ tassel flower variety sports long, wiry stems and small, tousled, pompon bright orange flowers in clusters. These flowers are suitable as a specialty cut flower, making colorful fillers for summer bouquets. They are also ideal for naturalistic gardens. Grows best in full sun with good drainage. Tassel Flower was introduced from Asia in 1799 and was also known as “Flora’s Paintbrush” in Victorian times. While the more common Tassel Flower blooms an intense, deep orange-red, ‘Irish Poet’ is more of an unusual and rare variety.
