Capsicum baccatum ‘Lemon Drop’
The lemon drop pepper is a hot, citrus-flavored pepper and is a popular seasoning pepper in Peru. It carries a 30,000- 50,000 scoville level. The peppers ripen to a bright lemon-yellow color, with a dark purple blush on occasion. The flavor is a very clean, slight citrusy heat. The 2′- 3′ tall plants are covered with conical fruits which reach 2″- 3″ in length, with very few seeds. This variety blooms later than most others in the garden. Peppers act as annuals in northern zones, but are truly a perennial plant in tropical, frost-free zones. Full sun.
