Capsicum annuum | ‘Bellingrath Gardens’
This rare pepper variety is named after the famous garden in Mobile, Alabama, USA. Plants have green leaves with black-purple tint, purple to black stems, and white flowers with purple tips. The fruit grow upright and are 3/4″ x 1/4″. They turn from purple-green, to dark purple, to orange, to red with purple-orange undertones, to a rare glowing ember red when mature. ‘Bellingrath Gardens’ pepper plant are vigorous, productive and have a remarkable flavor. Excellent for making vinegar and pickles.
Peppers act as annuals in northern zones, but are truly a perennial plant in tropical, frost-free zones. ‘Bellingrath Gardens’ pepper is a beautiful ornamental pepper variety. Full sun.
